Wiper Arm: Service and Repair

Wiper Arms

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Removing:

-

Bring wiper arms to service-/winter position, refer to => [ Wiper Arm Service-/Winter Position ] See: Description and Operation/Wiper Arm
Service-/Winter Position.

-

Open hood.

-

Fold wiper arm away from window.

‹› Do not grasp wiper blade when doing this.

-

Pry off cover caps - arrows - from wiper arms -  A - using a screwdriver.

‹› The following illustrations show the driver's side wiper arm.

‹› Removal of the front passenger's side wiper arm is performed in the same sequence.

Loosen nuts - arrow - but do not remove completely. 

-

Loosen wiper arm - 1 - from cone using sideways motions.
