Wiper Motor: Removal and Replacement

Windshield Wiper Motor

Requirement

-

Wiper frame with linkage and wiper motor removed

-

Alternating Park Position of wiper motor (APP function) must be deactivated.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

-

Torque wrench V.A.G 1331

-

Pry lever 80-200

Removing

NOTE:  Alternating Park Position of wiper motor (APP function) must be deactivated.

-

Pry off ball head - arrow - of linkage - 1 - from motor crank using pry lever 80-200

-

Remove mounting nut - 1 -.

-

Remove motor crank - 2 - from wiper motor shaft.

-

Remove mounting bolts - arrows - and remove wiper motor with control module out of wiper frame.

Installing

-

Insert wiper motor with control module into wiper frame and secure it with mounting bolts - arrows -.

-

Tighten threaded connections to 8 Nm.
