Oil Filter Housing: Service and Repair
Replacement

Component Notes And Information 

NOTE:

During service procedures, refer to the illustration above and the information below.

If metal shavings or large quantities of metal particles (possibly caused by partial seizure of crankshaft and connecting rod bearings) are found in
the engine oil while performing engine repairs:

^

Thoroughly clean all oil passages, replace all oil spray jets, the oil non-return valve and the oil cooler

Bolt
-

Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)

Oil pump drive cover

O-ring
-

 Always replace

-

 Oil before installing

Oil pump drive

Intermediate shaft

Thrust washer

Bolt
-

Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft lbs)

 Install with locking fluid "D6"

Oil pump
-

Disassembly and assembly. See: Oil Pump/Service and Repair

Coat oil pump housing and oil pressure pipe at cylinder block using AMV 188 001 02

Bolt
-

Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)

10

Bolt
-

Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)

 Always replace

-

 Install with "D6" locking fluid

Oil drain plug
-

Tighten to: 30 Nm (22 ft lb)

Seal
-

Always replace

Oil spray jet
-

For crankshaft bearings 2 to 7

-

For piston cooling

-

Removing and installing, refer to Fig. 1 below

Opening pressure: 2.0 bar
