Air Injection Bypass Valve: Testing and Inspection

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items

 8012 Hand vacuum pump (illustration shows V.A.G 1390) 

Checking conditions:

Vacuum pipes and hose connections free of leaks.

-

Vacuum lines not blocked-kinked.

-

Remove sound dampening tray.

-

Disconnect vacuum hose from combi-valve from Secondary Air Injection solenoid valve N112.

Connect US 8012 hand vacuum pump to combi-valve vacuum hose arrow->.

NOTE: Do not use compressed air during the following check!
 

Detach hose to combi valve at Air Cleaner upper section arrow-> and pressurize slightly by blowing into hose.

-

combi-valve must be closed.

-

Operate hand vacuum pump.

-

combi-valve must open.

-

If combi-valve does not open.

-

Replace combi-valve.
