Fuel Injector: Service Precautions

NOTES:

-

Engine compartment fuel lines must be secured with spring clips. The use of clamp or screw-type clips is not permitted.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) for the Fuel injection and Ignition system is equipped with a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory Before
performing repairs, adjustments or troubleshooting, the DTC memory must be checked and the vacuum connections checked for leakage (outside
air).

Components tagged with an * are checked via On Board Diagnostic.

Components tagged ** are checked via Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).

Trouble-free electrical component operation requires 11.5 Volts (minimum).

Do not use sealants containing silicone Particles of silicone drawn into the engine, are not consumed during combustion and could damage the 
Oxygen sensor resulting in higher exhaust emission levels.

Do not use terminal sprays or similar materials in the area of the Oxygen sensor connector. Oxygen sensors require reference air to function
correctly which they receive via the cable. If terminal spray enters the sensor via the cable, it can lead to possible damage or driveability
complaints.

As a result of performing certain checks, the ECM can trigger and and store a DTC. Therefore after completing all checks and repairs, DTC
memory must be checked for any possible DTC's and if necessary erased.
