VAG 1551/1552 Scan Tool using VAG 1551/3 adapter cable

Fluke 83 multimeter (or equivalent)

Connect VAG 1551 (VAG 1552) Scan Tool. Refer to Scan Tool Testing/VAG 1551 Scan Tool. See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and
Inspection

With engine idling, press buttons -0- and -1- to select "Engine electronics" address word 01

Display will appear as shown

Press buttons -0- and -8- to select "Read measuring value block" and press -Q- button to confirm input.

Press buttons -0-, -0- and -5- to select "Display group number 5".

Perform road-test and observe display in Display field 3.

NOTE:  You must drive the vehicle to check the vehicle speed signal. A second person is required to safely read the Scan Tool displays from a seating
position other than the front passenger seal.
