Steering Angle Sensor: Service and Repair
Vehicles with ESP are also equipped with Steering Angle Sensor -G85-. It is installed together with the slip ring and return ring in one housing.
Removing
^
Driver-side airbag and steering wheel removed.
^
Check whether the front wheels are in straight-ahead position.
^
If necessary, position front wheels in straight-ahead position.
^
Remove lower and upper trim for steering column switch.
^
Turn steering angle sensor -A- into center position;
A yellow dot must be visible in window -1-.
^
The markings (arrow) must be align.
^
Disconnect harness connector-1 and -2-.
^
Remove housing -A- from steering column.
