Shifter A/T: Service and Repair
Disassemble/Assemble

NOTE:  Lubricate all joints and sliding surfaces with multi-purpose grease.

Detent plate

Before installing the selector lever in selector housing, assemble selector lever, detent plate, spring, locking lever and pivot piece.

Spring

For locking lever

-

Hook into hole of detent plate

Locking lever
-

For vehicles with ignition key lock

Pivot piece

Combi-bolt

Relay lever

Bolt For securing the selector lever cable

Hex nut
-

Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)

Always replace

Locking lever
-

Install with spring and bushing into selector lever

Spring
-

Install with locking lever and bushing into selector lever -16-

Bushing
-

Install in locking lever

12

Hex bolt
-

Tighten to: 3 Nm (27 inch lb)

Install with locking fluid AMV 1 85101 A1, or equivalent

Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-

Can be checked electrically, refer to Electrical Tests or Measuring Value Block. See: Transmission Control Systems/Testing and Inspection

Slide

Press into the selector lever hole

Set screw
-

Install with locking fluid AMV 185 101 A1, or equivalent

Selector lever
-

Assemble before installing in selector lever housing

Spring

Push rod

Grease in area of sliding surfaces
