It must be possible to insert T10068 camshaft ruler into both shaft grooves.

-

Before installing, check control housing strainer for soiling.

-

Lightly oil sealing ring contact surfaces of camshaft before installing control housing.

-

Lightly oil camshafts and slowly slide control housing over camshaft sealing rings.

-

Bolt control housing to cylinder head (arrows) and tighten to 8 Nm.

-

Clean 3 mm holes in cylinder head gasket, removing old sealant (arrows)

-

fill 3 mm bores in cylinder head gasket with sealant AMV 188 001 02.

Note:  With the cylinder head installed, the holes in cylinder head gasket are only half visible.

Coat sealing surface of cover piece with sealant AMV 188 001 02.

-

Oil O-ring for oil channel sealing and insert sealing ring into cover piece.

-

Install cover piece, insert all securing bolts and lightly tighten.

-

First also tighten securing bolts M8 to 25 Nm. Then install securing bolts M6 and tighten to 8 Nm.

Install chain tensioner for camshaft roller chain and tighten to 40 Nm.
