Oil Pressure Warning Lamp/Indicator: Testing and Inspection

After switching ignition on with the engine at standstill, the oil pressure lamp in instrument cluster will light for approximately 3 seconds and then turn
off. Test will be terminated if engine is running.

Warning criteria

-

Switching on the visual oil pressure warning (blinking of oil pressure warning lamp) and sounding of buzzer (3 times) for acoustic warning occurs
at one of the following requirements.

-

"Ignition on", engine at standstill, oil pressure switch closed

Engine speed greater than 1500 RPM, oil pressure switch open

Notes:  

-

At an engine speed above 5000 RPM the warning lamp also remains switched on if the oil pressure switch is closed. The warning lamp is
switched off again at an engine speed below 5000 RPM.

If the oil pressure switch only opens 0.3 to 3.0 seconds at an engine speed above 1500 RPM, this will be stored in the combination processor
of the instrument cluster. If this condition occurs three times during engine operation, warning will be activated immediately and will also not
be erased below 1500 RPM. Switching off the oil pressure warning is performed when the oil pressure switch is closed for more than 5
seconds above 1500 RPM or if the ignition is switched off.
