Tape off groove at crankshaft pin (hatched area) using standard tape (arrow) (e.g. scotch tape).

-

Carefully set sealing ring onto crankshaft.

-

Press in sealing ring up to stop using 3266 seal installer. Use old securing bolt for harmonic balancer.

-

Install harmonic balancer and secure using T10069 retainer.

-

Tighten new securing bolt to 100 Nm and 1/4 rotation (90 °) additionally.

Notes:

-

Securing bolt for harmonic balancer must be replaced.

-

Tighten securing bolt using VAG1601 torque wrench.

-

Install ribbed belt.
