Disconnect connector from housing.

^

Carefully lift catches (3 pieces) and disconnect steering angle sensor.

^

The third catch is located at underside of the steering angle sensor.

Installing 

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

Set steering angle sensor into place until the catches engage.

If a new steering angle sensor is being installed, transportation protection must be removed.

Perform basic setting after installation.

Basic setting of the steering angle sensor must be checked after the following repair work:

If Steering Angle Sensor -G85- was removed or replaced,

^

if the steering column was removed or replaced,

^

if the steering wheel was offset.

Check basic setting of Steering Angle Sensor G85. Refer to Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems; Testing and Inspection.

Note:  After installing the airbag steering wheel, switch on ignition and then disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

WARNING:  Make sure no one is in the vehicle while connecting file battery Ground (GND) strap.
