Heated Glass Element: Testing and Inspection

Required for troubleshooting:

Mulitimeter Fluke 83

-

Connector lest Kit VW1594

-

Valid wiring diagram

Before starting troubleshooting, battery negative terminal (-) must be securely tighted.

Prerequisite:

-

5812 Fuse 12 (30A), located on fuse holder -B-below fuse/relay-panel, OK

-

S4 Fuse 4 (15A), located on fuse/relay-panel, OK

-

Supply voltage (battery-voltage) OK

CAUTION!
DO NOT damage, enlarge or bend connector terminals or cavities by forcing probes into them when performing electrical checks. Always use
connector test kit VW 1594 to make the necessary electrical connections.

Preparation:

-

Remove cover from the relay panel

-

Remove upper trim panel from tailgate.

After repairing malfunction, check function of heated rear window.
