Crankshaft Assembly Overview

‹› On vehicles with a DSG transmission, the needle bearing must be installed in the rear of the crankshaft.

Bolt, 65 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn

‹› Always replace.

‹› Fully threaded.

‹› Only tighten the crankshaft bearing cap bolts to 65 Nm to measure radial play. Do not rotate further.

Bearing Cap

‹› Bearing cap 1: Belt pulley side.

‹› Retaining tabs of the bearing shells and cylinder block/bearing caps must align with one another.

Screw, 10 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn

‹› Always replace.

Sensor Wheel

‹› For the engine speed (RPM) sensor.
