‹› Note the expiration date of the sealing compound.

‹› Differential shaft gear with intermediate plate and oil pan must be installed and tightened immediately after application of silicon sealant.

Remove the sealant residue from the cylinder block with a flat scraper.

Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter approximately 3 mm).

Apply the silicon sealant to a clean sealing surfaces of the new intermediate plate as shown.

Note the following points:

‹› The sealant bead must be 2 to 3 mm thick.

‹› Sealant bead must continue to the inner side of the bolt holes -  arrows -.

‹› Sealant bead must be on the cylinder block. No sealant is necessary on the oil pan.

‹› Sealant bead must not be thicker than specified. Otherwise, excess sealant could get into the oil pan and clog the strainer in the intake side of the

oil pump.

Place the intermediate plate as shown onto the alignment pins -  arrows - of balance shaft drive.

Install the oil pump with balance shaft gear and intermediate plate. Tighten the bolts - arrows - from the inside toward the outside.
