Fuel Gauge Sender: Removal and Replacement

Fuel Level Sensor

‹› Phased-in introduction of fuel delivery units with a changed fuel level sensor.

Removing, Old Version

-

Remove the fuel delivery unit. Refer to --> [ Fuel Delivery Unit ] See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel
Pump/Service and Repair/Procedures/Fuel Delivery Unit.

Release the electrical connectors - arrows - and remove the electrical wires - 1, 2 and 3 -.

-

Lift the retaining tabs - 4 and 5 - using a screwdriver and pull the fuel level sensor downward and off in the - direction of the arrow -.

Installing, Old Version

-

Install the fuel level sensor into the guides on the fuel delivery unit and press up until engagement.

Connect the electrical connectors and check for secure locking.

Install the fuel delivery unit. Refer to --> [ Fuel Delivery Unit ] See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Pump/Service
and Repair/Procedures/Fuel Delivery Unit.

Removing, New Version

-

Remove the fuel delivery unit. Refer to --> [ Fuel Delivery Unit ] See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel
Pump/Service and Repair/Procedures/Fuel Delivery Unit.

Pull the fuel level sensor slightly to the side and simultaneously upward.
