Vibration Damper Pulley

‹› For the ribbed belt.

‹› The contact surface to the crankshaft toothed belt gear must be completely free of oil and grease.

Bolt

‹› Always replace.

Strength category 8.8: 10 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

Strength category 10.9: 20 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

Ribbed Belt Tensioner

‹› To release the tension on ribbed belt, rotate using an open end wrench. 

Accessory Bracket Tightening Sequence

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Multi-point adapter (VAS 3400)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332) (or corresponding 40 - 200 Nm)

Removing

-

Remove the generator.

-

Clamp the generator at the mounting points in a vise.

-

Remove protective cap from ribbed belt pulley with freewheel.

‹› The threads on the generator shaft are a left-handed thread, therefore, rotate it clockwise to loosen and counter-clockwise to tighten.

-

Insert the (VAS 3400) into the generator free-wheeling belt pulley with a 17 mm open end wrench.
