Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque wrench 5-60 Nm (VAG 1783)

Removing

-

Drain the cooling system. Refer to --> [ Draining and Filling ] See: Service and Repair/Cooling System, Draining and Filling. 

-

Remove the fan shroud. Refer to --> [ Fan Shroud ] See: Fan Shroud/Service and Repair/Fan Shroud. 

-

Remove the upper coolant hose - arrow - from the radiator.

-

Detach the air guide at the lock carrier - arrows - and remove the air guide.

-

Remove the bolts - 1 and 2 - and remove the radiator downward.
