Intake Air Control Valve Vacuum Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
Charge Air Regulation Vacuum Diaphragm, Checking
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Hand vacuum pump (VAS 6213)
Test Conditions
‹› The hose from the turbocharger to wastegate bypass regulator valve must have continuity to vacuum diaphragm.
‹› The wastegate bypass regulator valve is OK.
Test Sequence

Remove the engine cover. Refer to --> [ Engine Cover ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Cylinder Head Assembly/Service and
Repair/Engine Cover.

Connect the (VAS 6213) to the vacuum diaphragm - arrow -.

Set the slide ring - 1 - on the (VAS 6213) to position - B - for "pressure".
CAUTION!
The pressure must not exceed 750 mbar. If the pressure is exceeded, the vacuum diaphragm can be damaged.

Operate the (VAS 6213) several times and observe rods:
‹› The linkage - A - must move approximately 300 mbar and be at approximately 700 mbar at the end position.
