Engine Control Module Without Anti-Theft Immobilizer
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Vehicle diagnosis tester for example vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051 B
NOTE: If the engine control module is to be replaced, connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and perform "Guided Function, Replacing Engine
Control Module".
Removing
-
Switch off ignition.
-
Remove wiper arms and plenum chamber cover.

Remove plenum chamber bulkhead.
-
Remove securing bolts - 1 - and remove cover plate - 2 -.
-
Disengage front harness connector - 1 - from Engine Control Module (ECM) and disconnect it.

Pry up locking mechanism - 2 - slightly.
-
Push engine control module in direction of - arrow - out of retaining plate.
-
Release rear connector from engine control module and remove it.
Installing
-
Connect rear connector to the Engine Control Module (ECM) and lock it into place.
-
Slide Engine Control Module (ECM) on to retaining plate.
