Front Seat Belts
‹› Removal and installation is described for the left-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the right-hand side is performed in the
same manner.
Removing
CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for belt tensioners. Refer to => [ Belt Tensioner Safety Precautions ] See: Seat Belt Tensioner/Service
Precautions/Technician Safety Information.

Disconnect vehicle battery.

Remove upper B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Upper B-Pillar Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and
Repair/Pillar and Side Trim/Upper B-Pillar Trim.

Remove lower B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower B-Pillar Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and
Repair/Pillar and Side Trim/Lower B-Pillar Trim.

Remove the bolt - 1 - (40 Nm) and remove belt anchor - 2 - from body.
CAUTION!
The bolt => [ 1 Bolt ] See: is micro-encapsulated and must be heated using a hot air gun before loosening. While doing this, protect the
neighboring seat belt against excessive heat with a moist towel.
‹› Bolt is micro-encapsulated and must be replaced after each loosening.
‹› Before installing the new bolt, threads on nut must be cleaned, re-cut if necessary.

Remove screw - 3 - (40 Nm) and remove automatic belt retractors - 4 - from B-pillar.
CAUTION!
Electrostatic discharges can lead to an unintended deployment of the airbag. Therefore, mechanic must electrostatic discharge
him-/herself before disconnecting harness connector. This is done by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.

Disconnect wiring harness - 5 -.

Remove the bolts - 6 - (4.5 Nm) and remove belt guide - 7 -.

Remove bolt - 8 - (40 Nm) and remove belt relay - 9 - from belt height adjuster.
