Self-Adjusting Pressure Plate Adjusting Ring, New LuK Clutch, Checking and Resetting
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Punch (VW 412)
‹› Thrust pad (3062)
‹› The following step applies to clutches made by "LuK"
‹› Installation of a new pressure plate and new clutch disc is required.
‹› If previous pressure plate and clutch plate are reinstalled, adjusting ring should not be reset.
‹› On clutches made by "Sachs", pressure plate cannot be reset.
If you install a new pressure plate and clutch disc, check position of adjusting ring in pressure plate.
‹› Adjusting ring must be reset to stop
‹› Springs - arrow - are then pressed together on " block"
Otherwise, clutch contact pressure is reduced and this causes increased clutch plate wear.
If springs are not pressed together on "block", adjusting ring must be reset.
