Removing and installing engine
Detaching engine from gearbox
 
V10-0025
  • ‒ → Remove cover plate from drive shaft flange -arrow-.
  • ‒ Remove gearbox-engine attachment bolts and cover plate from gearbox housing.
  • ‒ On vehicles with flat on the drive flange the flat must be pointing towards the flywheel separating engine from gearbox.

Notes on installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence, when doing this note the following:

  • ‒ Lightly grease splines on input shaft with G 000 100.

  • ‒ Check whether the dowel sleeves for centralising engine and gearbox are in in the cylinder block, install if necessary.
  • ‒ When installing the assembly, ensure that sufficient clearance exists between assembly and drive shafts.
  • ‒ Bolt left side gearbox carrier to gearbox.
  • ‒ Attach loosely to body for aligning engine and gearbox mountings.
  • ‒ → Align rear gearbox mounting.
 
U34-0001
  • ‒ → Centralise the engine/gearbox.
 
U10-0003
  • ‒ → Install and centralise the torquet arm.
  • ‒ Tighten the engine/gearbox mounting bolts on the body.
  • ‒ Fill coolant .
  • ‒ Adjust throttle cable => Page 20-6.
  • ‒ Check and if necessary adjust ignition timing:

=> Repair group 28

  • ‒ Matching engine electronics control unit to immobilizer:

=> Repair group 24
