The bevel gear shaft retension has been modified. The circlips have been discontinued and the shaft is now held in position by two extended rivets.

This means that the two rivets near the shaft, of the eight rivets securing the crownwheel, have been extended in length.

The shaft is available with, or without circlip grooves.

Repair instructions

When repairs are carried out to the differential whereby the rivets are drilled out and replaced by bolts:

• ‒ Install shaft with grooves. -Part No. 020 409 177 A - and secure in position with circlip - N 042 363 1 -.

When renewing the differential bevel gears:

• ‒ Cut off both rivets to the same length (ensure sawdust does not enter tapered roller bearings). Secure bevel gear shaft with circlips.
