–
| Use auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C- to connect lead from connector (contacts 1 + 2) to throttle valve positioner -V60- (contacts 1+2) (supply throttle valve positioner breather valve -N117- with voltage). |
–
| Check resistance at contacts 3 and 5 of throttle valve positioner -V60- with hand-held multimeter -V.A.G 1526C- and auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-. |
–
| At the same time, use hand-operated vacuum pump with accessories -V.A.G 1390/- to generate vacuum until hand-held multimeter -V.A.G 1526C- shows 500…700 Ω. Operating rod of throttle valve positioner -V60- must not be fully retracted in this case. |
Note If operating rod is retracted fully (overrun position), a vacuum of at least 250 mbar must be generated. |
–
| Pull vacuum tester -V.A.G 1368- vacuum hose from throttle valve positioner breather valve -N117- and leave connection free. |
–
| Observe resistance value on hand-held multimeter -V.A.G 1526C-. Displayed value may rise by max. 200 Ω in 1 minute. |
If the specification is not attained: |
–
| Renew throttle valve positioner -V60- (throttle valve positioner breather valve -N117- leaking). |
–
| Switch ignition on and observe resistance value on hand-held multimeter -V.A.G 1526C-. Displayed value max rise by max. 650 Ω in 5 seconds. |
If the specification is not attained: |
–
| Remove and check non-return valve, renew if necessary. |
–
| Again connect vacuum hose to breather valve connection and, if necessary, generate vacuum until hand-held multimeter -V.A.G 1526C- shows 500…700 Ω. |
