Checking and adjusting throttle valve positioner -V60- control range
  Note
   
Control range for throttle valve positioner -V60- is set in factory with limiting bolt -A- (shear bolt) and must not be changed. If specification for idle speed is not achieved, although Ecotronic (including control unit) was found to be OK during the check, the following check and, if necessary, adjustment, must be carried out:
Ecotronic control unit -J184- OK; check → Chapter, quick Ecotronic function test
Throttle valve positioner -V60- OK, check → Chapter
  V22-1543
–  Connect vacuum tester -V.A.G 1368- with hand-operated vacuum pump with accessories -V.A.G 1390/- to lower throttle valve positioner breather valve -N117- vacuum connection.
–  Switch ignition on.
–  Use hand-operated vacuum pump with accessories -V.A.G 1390/- to generate vacuum of at least 250 mbar (overrun position).
Operating rod of throttle valve positioner -V60- must assume a position controlled by control unit.

–  In this operating rod position, gap between throttle valve stop bolt -B- and stop lever -C- must be checked.
Specification -a-: 3.1 ± 0.1 mm

–  Adjust with limiting bolt -A- if necessary.
  Note
If adjustment is necessary, a slot must be reworked in limiting bolt -A- or bolt must be replaced by a slotted bolt.
