1Driver's airbag igniter -N95-Correct
–  No faults present
  End posn earth
–  Visual check of wiring
  End posn positive
–  Watch display and check connectors of appropriate current circuit for correct engagement and tight fit.
   If display changes to “correct”, erase fault memory
  Too low
–  Pull igniter connector off airbag unit
   Display changes to “too high”
   
–  Renew airbag unit.
   Display remains on “too low”
   
–  Separate connector on coil connector with slip ring.
   Display changes to “too high”
   
–  Renew coil connector with slip ring
   Display remains on “too low”
   
–  Renew wiring harness
  Too high
–  Pull igniter connector off airbag unit
   
–  Fit igniter connector onto inert igniter on -VAS 5056- → Chapter.
   Display changes to “correct”
   
–  Renew airbag unit.
   Display remains on “too high”
   
–  Pull off connector between wiring harness and coil connector with slip ring
   
–  Connect test box -VAS 5056- to driver's circuit wiring harness instead of coil connector with slip ring → Chapter.
   Display changes to “correct”
   
–  Renew coil connector with slip ring
   Display remains on “too high”
   
–  Press button on -VAS 5056-
   Display remains on “too high”
   
–  Renew wiring harness
2Airbag igniter 1 - passenger's side -N131-CorrectNo faults present
  End posn earth
–  Visual check of wiring
  End posn positive
Too low
–  Watch display and check connectors of appropriate current circuit for correct engagement and tight fit. If display changes to “correct”, erase fault memory
   
–  Separate connector between wiring harness and adapter cable to airbag unit
   Display changes to “too high”
   
–  Renew airbag unit
   Display remains on “too low”
   
–  Renew wiring harness
  Too high
–  Connect test box -VAS 5056- to passenger's circuit wiring harness → Chapter.
   
–  Press button on -VAS 5056-
   Display changes to “too low”
   
–  Renew airbag unit
   Display remains on “too high”
   
–  Renew wiring harness
