Initiating basic setting

Note

t	Initiate basic setting after performing the following repairs:

t	Exchanging engine

t	Renewing engine control unit

t	Renewing or altering throttle valve

t	Adjusting throttle valve (setting idling speed).

t	Renewing throttle valve potentiometer -G69-

t	Altering throttle valve potentiometer -G69- setting e.g. when adjusting idling switch (engine)

t	Renewing automatic gearbox control unit -J217-

–	Connect fault reader -V.A.G 1551-, enter address word “02 - Gearbox electronics” and advance until “Select function XX” is shown on display → Chapter.

Indicated on display:

–	Press buttons 0 and 4. ("04" selects the function “Initiate basic settings”).

Note

Accelerator pedal must remain in idling position.

–	Confirm entry with Q key.

04 Basic setting

Indicated on display:

–	Press keys 0 and 0.

–	Confirm entry with Q key.

Initiate basic settings             HELP

Enter display group number XX

Indicated on display:

The system is now in the basic setting.

–	Depress accelerator pedal to kickdown position and hold there for 3 seconds.

–	Press → key.
