| If a fault exists, it is stored as a static fault. If the type of fault is no longer present after a predetermined period or distance travelled, it is considered to be a sporadic fault. |
| Faults stored in the memory as sporadic faults will be displayed as “sporadic faults” when the fault reader -V.A.G 1551- is read. “SP” will appear on the right of the display in such cases. If the printer is switched on, “sporadic fault” will be printed out when the faults are read. |
| Faults stored in the memory as sporadic faults are automatically cleared after 1,000 km or 20 hours. |
