Notes:

  • ◆ The fault table is listed according to the 5 digit fault code on the left.
  • ◆ Explanation of the fault types (e.g. "open circuit/short circuit to earth"):

=> Fault reader operating instructions

  • ◆ If components are indicated as being defective:
    First check the wiring and connections to these components as well as the system earth connections according to current flow diagram. Only when no fault can be found, renew component. This is particularly relevant if the faults are indicated as "occurring sporadically" (SP).

    Engine code ABD, ABU:

    After switching off the ignition separate Mono Motronic control unit from vehicle electrical system for 30 seconds: Either disconnect battery (obtain radio code) or pull connector off control unit.

    Engine code AEA: => Page 01-26 ; Erasing values learnt by engine electronics control unit.

The electronic immoblizer control unit (J362) has blocked the Mono Motronic control unit

- Match the engine electronic control unit to the electronic immobilizer
Check electronic immobilizer:
=> Repair group 96; Servicing electronic immobilizer
Then start engine and erase the engine control unit fault memory
