Removing air cleaner , Fig. 2

  • Air cleaner cover

Note:

If the cover screws are loosened or tightened with a power tool the lower part of the thread can be damaged. Therefore the use of a power tool is only permissible when:

  • ◆ The power tool speed is max. 200 rpm
  • ◆ The tightening torque is set to max. 3 Nm
  • Filter element
  • Air cleaner lower part

  • Gasket
    • ◆ Renew if damaged
  • Crankcase breather hose
  • Warm air intake
  • Air intake housing with regulating flap
    • ◆ Check intake air preheating => Page 24-74

→ Fig. 1     Resistance graph

The diagram is valid for coolant temperature sender (G62) and intake air sender (G42).

The diagram is divided into two temperature ranges:

  •      A -     From 0...50 °C
  •      B -     From 50...105 °C

Examples:

  • ◆ 30 °C is in range A and corresponds to a resistance of 1.5...2.0 kω
  • ◆ 80 °C is in range B and corresponds to a resistance of 275...375 ω
