The fuel cut-off valve control unit as supplied always switches the fuel cut-off valve on, even without influence from the immobilizer control unit.

To ensure correct functioning of the immobilizer, the fuel shut-off valve control unit must be matched to the immobilizer control unit with fault reader V.A.G 1551, V.A.G 1552 or Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.

The self-diagnosis connection is located in centre of dash panel above ashtray.

• ‒ Fold storage compartment below left-hand side of dash panel down.
• ‒ → With ignition switched off, connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 using diagnosis cable V.A.G 1551/3.

Notes:

• ◆ If the display remains blank, check V.A.G 1551 voltage supply according to current flow diagram.
• ◆ Additional operating instructions can be called up with the fault reader HELP key.
• ◆ The ⇒ key serves to advance the programme sequence.

• ‒ Switch on ignition.
• ‒ Press key 1 for "Rapid data transfer" mode.

• ‒ Press keys 2 and 5. "25" enters the address word "immobilizer".

• ‒ Confirm entry with Q key.

1)- Data transfer speed

Note:

When code 02400 is displayed on the display then the fuel cut-off valve control unit is matched to the immobilizer control unit .

Should another coding be displayed, the coding must be changed as follows:

• ‒ Press ⇒ key.

• ‒ Press keys 0 and 7. (The function "Code control unit" is selected with 07.)

• ‒ Confirm entry with key Q.

• ‒ Enter code number with keys:

     09600 - Petrol engine, TDI and SDI engines

     02400 - Diesel engine, except TDI and SDI

Entry correction with "C" key possible.

• ‒ Confirm entry with key Q.

• ‒ Press ⇒ key.

Note:

When the described display contents appear then the coding is OK and the fuel cut-off valve control unit can be matched to the immobilizer control unit.

Matching fuel cut-off valve control unit

Prerequisites

Authorized ignition key available.

• ◆ If an authorized ignition key is not available but the secret number is, new ignition keys must be manufactured and adapted.

• ‒ Press keys 1 and 0. (10 selects the "Adaption" function.)

• ‒ Confirm entry with key Q.

• ‒ Press key 0 twice. (00 selects "Channel 0".)
• ‒ Confirm entry with key Q.

• ‒ Confirm entry with key Q.

• ‒ Press ⇒ key.

Note:

The the fuel cut-off valve control unit identification will be stored in the immobilizer control unit and the engine can be started.

• ‒ Press keys 0 and 6. (The function "End output" is selected with 06.)

• ‒ Confirm entry with key Q.

• ‒ Switch off ignition.
• ‒ Switch on ignition.

The fuel cut-off valve control unit is now matched.
