Removing fuel shut-off valve control unit

Notes:

  • ◆ When the control unit must be removed because of a defective fuel shut-off valve, ensure the control unit is not damaged when drilling out the shear head bolts. This is because the control unit can be reused after servicing the fuel shut-off valve.
  • ◆ The shear head bolts can be obtained as individual items under Part No. 028 903 285.

Removing:

  • ‒ Remove injector pipes as a complete set

  • ‒ Separate 3-pin connector from wiring harness on control unit.
  • ‒ → Centre punch head of shear head bolts -arrows- in centre.
  • ‒ Drill approx. 4 mm (3 mm dia. drill) into end of shear head bolt .
  • ‒ Remove shear head bolt with aid of left-hand thread tap (stud extractor).

Installing:

Installing fuel shut-off valve control unit .
