Repairing front brakes, 2FN brake caliper > < Installing
Brake pads with specified direction of rotation
   
Brake pads with specified direction of rotation
1 - Right piston side brake pad
2 - Left piston side brake pad
Before pressing piston back into cylinder with piston resetting tool, draw off brake fluid from brake fluid reservoir. Otherwise, particularly if reservoir has been topped up, fluid will overflow and cause damage.

–  Press piston back.
–  Insert brake pads.

When installed the arrow on the brake pad backplate -A- must point downwards. Ensure this is installed correctly!
–  Fit outer brake pad on brake carrier.
–  Pull protective foil off outer brake pad backplate.

–  Bolt brake caliper housing to brake carrier with both guide pins .
–  Fit both protective caps.
–  Insert retaining spring into brake caliper housing.
–  Insert brake wear indicator connector into bracket on suspension strut.
  Note
t  After changing brake pads, firmly depress brake pedal several times with vehicle stationary, so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
t  After changing brake pads check brake fluid level.
