Removing and installing radiator

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007-
t  Drip tray -V.A.G 1306- or drip tray for workshop crane -VAS 6208-
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331- (5...50 Nm)
t  Spring-type clip pliers -VAS 5024-

Removing
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove front bumper: → Rep. Gr.63
–  Remove coolant hose rapid action couplings from radiator.
–  Remove connectors from thermal switch and radiator fan.
–  Bring lock carrier into service position → Rep. Gr.50.
–  Remove radiator securing bolts and remove radiator with fan downwards.
Vehicles with air conditioning:
–  Note additional notes and repair work → Chapter
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence. When installing, note the following:
–  Fill with coolant → Chapter.
