• ◆ V.A.G 1348/3 A Remote control
• ◆ V.A.G 1348/3-2 Adapter cable
• ◆ VAS 5226 Diesel suction pump
• ◆ V.A.G 1318/20 Adapter
• ◆ V.A.G 1318/20-1 Adapter

Prerequisites

• ● → The fuses must be OK.
• ● The battery voltage must be at least 11.5 V.
• ● Fuel pump relay must be OK

Work sequence

• ‒ Remove cover in front of fuse holder.

• ‒ → Pull fuse No. 28 out of fuse holder.
• ‒ Connect remote control V.A.G 1348/3A with adapter cable V.A.G 1348/3-2 to contact 28a to fuel pump and battery positive (+).

• ‒ Remove pressure hose from the secondary air pump to the combination valve.
• ‒ → Unscrew cover cap -arrow- of breather valve.

• ‒ → Screw the adapter V.A.G 1318/20-1 on the adapter V.A.G 1318/20.
• ‒ Turn the valve (at T-piece) anti-clockwise until it is completely open.

• ‒ → Screw the adapter V.A.G 1318/20 hand-tight onto the breather valve.
• ‒ Connect the hose of the diesel suction pump VAS 5226 as shown.
• ‒ Turn the valve (at T-piece) clockwise into the breather valve onto limit stop.
• ‒ Check adapters and hose connectors for leaks.
• ‒ Operate the remote control V.A.G 1348/3A until bubble-free fuel comes out of the breather valve.
• ‒ Turn the valve (at T-piece) anti-clockwise again until it is completely open.
• ‒ Clamp-off hose of diesel suction pump VAS 5226 (e.g. with hose clamp 3094) and disconnect it from the adapter V.A.G 1318/20-1.
• ‒ Unscrew the adapter V.A.G 1318/20 from the breather valve.
