Safety precautions when working on natural gas system |
WARNING There is a danger of explosion! Work on the high-pressure system must only be performed by personnel trained to § 41a StVZO for natural gas vehicles. |
Release pressure in the system before working on the natural gas system. |
|
Caution When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to the cramped conditions: |
t
| Route high-pressure lines in their original positions. |
t
| To avoid damage to lines, ensure sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components. |
t
| Never attempt to reshape high-pressure lines of natural gas system. |
|
First tighten union nuts hand-tight then turn 90° (1/4 turn) further, counterhold on union with a spanner for this. |
Note t
| On no account must the union nut be tightened further than specified, otherwise the special connection will be damaged and the pressure line must be renewed. |
t
| A leakage test of the screwed connection must be performed after each time a connection is loosened → Chapter. |
t
| Disconnect battery earth strap before carrying out work on natural gas system. |
t
| A leakage test must always be performed after working on the natural gas system. |
t
| The natural gas system leakage test must only be performed by personnel trained to § 41a StVZO for natural gas vehicles. |
t
| Only components of the same type and with the same product constructional approval may be exchanged on the high-pressure system. |

t
| Parts of the natural gas system on which work is to be carried out, must first be evacuated. |
t
