1 - 15 Nm
2 - Bracket
q   For oil level/temperature sender wiring harness.
q   Different types: screwed or clipped in place
3 - 15 Nm
4 - Oil dipstick
q   The oil level must not be above the max. mark!
q   Markings → Fig..
5 - Dipstick guide
q   Pull out to extract oil.
6 - Guide tube
7 - Dowel sleeves
8 - O-ring
q   Renew
9 - 15 Nm
10 - Suction line
q   Clean strainer if soiled.
11 - Baffle plate
12 - 15 Nm
13 - 15 Nm
14 - Sump
q   Clean sealing surface before fitting.
q   Install with silicone sealant -D 176 404 A2- → Chapter.
15 - Seal
q   Renew
16 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
q   Renew plug with attached seal.
17 - 10 Nm
18 - Oil level and oil temperature gauge -G266-
q   Only for vehicles 05.99 ►
q   Checking → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
19 - Seal
q   Renew
20 - Oil pump
q   With 12 bar pressure relief valve.
q   Before installing, check that both dowel sleeves for centring oil pump on cylinder block are fitted.
q   Renew if running surfaces and gears are scored.
21 - Chain sprocket
22 - 20 Nm
23 - 15 Nm
24 - Chain
25 - Sealing flange
q   With oil seal.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Install with silicone sealant -D 176 404 A2- → Chapter.
q   Note different types of seal
q   PTFE seal with no inner coil spring
q   Renewing crankshaft oil seal, pulley end → Chapter.
26 - Chain tensioner with tensioning rail, 15 Nm
q   When installing, pre-tension spring and fit.
