t  Chilling spray (commercially available)
Checking regulating flap
Engine codes AHW, AKQ, APE, ATN, AUS, AXP
–  Remove hose for intake air preheating.
   
–  Check regulating flap position through intake connecting pipe -1-.
t  Above +23 °C, flap must close warm air connection.
t  Below +10 °C, flap opens warm air connection.
  Note
The function of the thermal element can be checked by simply spraying some commercially available chilling agent through the hole of the intake air connecting flange -arrow-.
Engine codes AZD, BCA, BCB
–  Remove engine cover.
  N24-1125
–  Check regulating flap position -1-.
t  Above +23 °C, flap must close warm air connection.
t  Below +10 °C, flap opens warm air connection.
  Note
The function of the thermal element -2- can be checked by simply spraying in commercially available chilling agent.
