Installing > < Removing and installing camshaft adjuster and exhaust camshaft pulley

Removing
–  First remove both toothed belts → Chapter.
–  Turn crankshaft back slightly.
–  Remove locking pin -T10074- from camshaft adjuster and exhaust camshaft pulley.
   
–  First fit retaining plate -T10073- on camshaft adjuster.

–  Push locking pin -A- into fitting hole in camshaft adjuster and camshaft housing onto stop.
–  Then lock exhaust camshaft pulley by pushing a locking pin -B- through second hole in retaining plate -T10073- in fitting hole of camshaft housing to stop.
  Note
The locking process is made easier by turning exhaust camshaft pulley slightly on securing bolt with a ring spanner until the fitting holes align.
–  Unscrew camshaft adjuster plug.

–  Loosen camshaft adjuster central bolt in clockwise direction using multi-point bit -T10061-.
  Note
The camshaft adjuster central bolt has a left-hand thread.
–  Loosen hexagon bolt on exhaust camshaft pulley and remove it.
  Note
The exhaust camshaft pulley hexagon bolt has a right-hand thread and must be renewed.
–  Carefully pull locking pins -T10074- from retaining plate -T10073- and remove retaining plate -T10073- from camshaft adjuster.
–  Remove central bolt from camshaft adjuster and carefully remove camshaft adjuster from camshaft housing.
–  Place the face side of the camshaft adjuster on a clean surface.
–  Remove exhaust camshaft pulley.
