Removing on vehicles without front centre armrest and without air vents in centre console

Vehicles with automatic gearbox

–	Detach gearstick boot from cover → Rep. gr.37.

Vehicles with manual or dual clutch gearbox

–	Detach gearstick boot from cover → Rep. gr.34.

–	Removing storage compartment/ashtray unit (Golf 2004 ►) → Chapter

–	Unclip cover -1- from trim using a small screwdriver.

–	Unscrew bolt -2- (1.5 Nm).

–	Pull left footwell trim -3- out of mountings.

–	Detach right footwell trim, removal is identical.

–	It is not necessary to remove trim -4- on both sides.

–	Remove two bolts each -3- and -4- (1.5 Nm).

To remove securing bracket of centre console, it is not necessary to remove bolts -1-, -2- and -5-.

–	Unscrew two nuts -1- (8 Nm) and remove mounting bracket -2-.
