Installing > < Removing and installing sun visor

Removing
–  Switch off ignition.
   
  Note
If the sun visor only requires removal then bolt -3- and sun visor bearing -6- need not be removed.
–  Using a small screwdriver, open cover caps -1- and -2-.
–  Remove bolts -3- and -4- (2 Nm).

   
–  Carefully pull sun visor bearing -1- out of mounting.
  Caution
Hold sun visor. Allowing the sun visor to hang on the wiring harness is not permitted!
–  Grasp into opening in moulded headliner for sun visor wiring harness -1- using thumb and index finger as shown.

   
  Caution
When the connector is subsequently pulled out of the retaining clip, there is a risk of the wiring harness becoming damaged. This occurs if the connector becomes dislodged abruptly from the retaining clip. For this reason, very carefully pull on wiring harness by hand, support palm of hand on vehicle for this. Force applied on wiring harness can be controlled, thus preventing an abrupt separation of wiring connections.
–  Hold onto the roof hand rail with one hand and gently pull on the wiring harness (towards windscreen) until the connector slips out of its retaining clip in the moulded headlining.
–  Carefully pull connector -1- out through opening in moulded headlining; only pull until connector is just beneath moulded headlining.
  Caution
Do not pull connector out any further as the flat cable -2- only has a limited amount of free length and could break.
The flat cable may only be pulled out from the opening in the moulded headliner to a length of 1 cm.
–  Carefully disconnect connector, without pulling on flat cable.
