Installing > < Removing and installing backrest release Bowden cable (2-door)

Removing
–  Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-.
–  Remove front seat → Chapter.
–  Secure seat to seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
–  Remove right front seat trim → Chapter.
Vehicles with manually adjustable seat
–  Remove left side trim on seat → Chapter.
Vehicles with electrically adjustable seat
–  Remove left side trim on electrically adjustable seat → Chapter.
All vehicles
–  Remove front seat backrest → Chapter.
–  Secure backrest to seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
–  Remove cover and backrest padding from front seat → Chapter
   
–  Drill out rivet -1- on both sides of backrest and remove bracket -2- from backrest frame.
–  Release Bowden cable -4- eye -3- from pin -5-.
–  Unhook spring -6-.
–  Unhook upper eye -7- from lever -8-.
–  Operate mounting catches -9- and pull Bowden cable -10- out of backrest frame.
