Removing
  WARNING
Follow safety precautions when working on airbag.
   
–  Remove drawer from seat, if fitted.
–  Move seat to foremost position using longitudinal adjustment.
–  Remove bolts -3- and -4-.
–  Move seat to rearmost position using longitudinal adjustment.
–  Disconnect vehicle battery → Rep. gr.27.
–  Remove cover cap -5- from coupling station.
  WARNING
Electrostatic discharges may result in unintentional triggering of airbag. Therefore, the mechanic must electrostatically discharge him/herself before disconnecting the igniter and earth wires. This can be done by briefly touching the body or striker plate of the door.
–  Depending on vehicle equipment, disconnect seat wiring harness from coupling station.
–  Connect airbag adapter -VAS 6229- or airbag adapter -VAS 6281- to side airbag wiring harness -6-.
–  Remove bolts -1- and -2-.
–  Release wiring harness from mounting in floor.
  Caution
If seat is lifted out of vehicle or transported, it must not, in order to prevent damage, be gripped by attaching parts such as, e.g. belt buckle, lever for seat longitudinal adjustment, lever for seat height adjustment or seat trim panels.
–  Reach with the right hand between the backrest and seat padding. With the left hand, grab the front end of the seat padding and lift the seat out of the vehicle.
