Installing
   
–  Drive in new seal to stop, being careful not to cant seal.
–  Half-fill space between sealing lip and dust lip with sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-.
–  Renew O-ring on stub shaft.
–  Insert stub shaft.
–  Secure stub shaft using countersunk bolt and tighten to specified torque → Item.
–  Lubricate splines of stub shaft using clutch plate spline grease -G 000 100-.

–  Guide intermediate shaft -B- through bearing bracket -C- onto stub shaft of gearbox.
–  Bolt intermediate shaft to bearing bracket, tightening to specified torque -arrows- → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr.40.
–  Install right drive shaft -A- → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr.40.
–  Check gear oil → Chapter.
–  Install noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.
