Conditions
l  Bevel box must be in installation position.
–  Remove noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.
Remove exhaust pipe for auxiliary heater from subframe as necessary → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr.40.
Right drive shaft heat shield is secured with 2 or 3 nuts.
   
–  Remove right drive shaft heat shield from bevel box by unscrewing 3 nuts -arrows-.

–  Remove right drive shaft heat shield from bevel box by unscrewing 2 nuts -arrows-.
–  Place drip tray under bevel box.
  Note
Cover area beneath oil filler plug -arrow- with a cloth.

–  Remove oil filler plug -arrow- from bevel box.
Oil filler plug -arrow- must be renewed.
Oil level is correct when bevel box is filled to lower edge of filler hole.
If oil should get on bevel box, carefully remove it.
–  If necessary, top up gear oil → Chapter.
–  Screw in new oil filler plug -arrow-.
–  Tighten plug to specified torque → Chapter.
If necessary, install exhaust pipe of booster heater on subframe. → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr.40
