Removing

–  Disconnect exhaust system at clamp -arrows- and remove rear part of exhaust system → Rep. gr.26.   Note The flexible joint of the exhaust system must not be bent more than 10° - danger of damage. –  Remove rear flexible coupling: t  Golf → Chapter t  Passat → Chapter

Golf –  Secure vehicle with tensioning belts -T10038- to lifting platform.

Passat –  Secure vehicle with tensioning belts -T10038- to lifting platform. Continuation for all vehicles   WARNING If the vehicle is not strapped down, it may slip off the lifting platform.

–  Remove propshaft flange hexagon nut. A -  Hexagon bolts M10 x 25 B -  Hexagon socket bolt M8 x 15 (screwed from back side into counterhold -3415-).

–  Pull off propshaft flange. If it is difficult to move, use puller -Kukko 12/1-.

–  Pull out seal using oil seal extractor lever -VW 681-.
