t  Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system -VAS 5051- or vehicle diagnosis and service information system -VAS 5052-
t  Diagnosis cable, 3 m with voltage supply -VAS 5051/1- or diagnosis cable, 5 m without voltage supply -VAS 5051/3-
  WARNING
To avoid accident risks, proceed as follows during measuring and test drives:
Use only vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A- or vehicle diagnosis and service information system -VAS 5052- to read measured value blocks. Always secure device on rear seat and have a second person operate it from there.

–  Connect vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system -VAS 5051/--1- to diagnostic terminal with diagnostic cable -VAS 5051/1- or -VAS 5051/3--2- with the ignition switched off.
Location: in footwell, front left.

–  Switch on tester -arrow-.
The tester is operational when it displays a picture of a car.
Starting „guided fault finding“
–  Switch on ignition.
–  Touch „Guided fault finding“ button on the screen.
–  Then select in succession:
t  Brand
t  Model
t  Model year
t  Version
t  Engine code
–  Confirm input data.
Wait until tester has read all control units in vehicle.
–  Press Goto button and select „Select function/component“ function.
Now follow information given on screen to start desired functions.
