Removing and installing coolant circulation pump -V50-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007-
t  Hose clip pliers -VAS 6340-
t  Torque wrench (5…50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-

   
t  Hose clamps up to 40 mm -3093-
Removing
  WARNING
When the engine is warm, the cooling system is under pressure.
Hot steam/hot coolant can escape - risk of scalding.
Cover filler cap on expansion tank with a cloth and open carefully to dissipate pressure.
The fitting location of the coolant circulation pump -V50- is beneath the intake manifold.
–  Remove noise insulation or underride guard → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.

–  Release and pull off connector -1-.
–  Seal off water hoses with hose clamps up to 40 mm -3093-.
–  Open clips and pull coolant hoses -2- off.
–  Undo bolt -3- and remove pump from bracket.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:
–  Check coolant level and top up if necessary → Chapter.
