| The cooling system is under pressure when the engine is hot. If necessary, release pressure before beginning repair work. |

| Secure all hose connections with correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment). |

| Hose clip pliers -V.A.G 1921- or spring-type clip pliers -VAS 5024A- are recommended for installation of spring-type clips. |

| Renew gaskets and seals. |

| The arrows on the coolant pipes and on the ends of the hoses must be aligned with each other. |

| Vehicles with engine codes BVY, BVZ and BVX have no map-controlled engine cooling thermostat -F265-. |
